LISA
VALLEY, CHILDREN'S PASTOR
I came
to Estes Park for the beauty of the mountains, and came to Rocky because it’s full
of people who genuinely care and want to follow Christ. As the Prime Time
Director, I develop the curriculum and lesson plans for children in preschool trough
grade 5. I also am responsible for recruiting and scheduling our volunteer teachers
for the babies through grade 5. The best part of it all is spending time with the
kids. Outside of work, I like to read, hike, camp, garden, and spend time
with my daughter, Amanda.
KIM PARKS,
ADMINISTRATOR
I was
born in Boulder, lived in Wyoming, Ohio, Kentucky and Kansas – my prayer was to
move back to Colorado, preferably in the mountains. Now here I am. And God used
my son to bring my husband and me to Rocky. People always come first with
me! My job title is Director of Operations – I guess that pretty much says it all.
My favorite part of the job is people, people, people. When I’m not working,
I love to play with my grandchildren! I have three now: Jonah, Zea, and Kolbey.
I also enjoy painting, reading, and spending time with my husband on the back of
his motorcycle.
JESS MAHON, LEAD PASTOR
My family and I came
to Estes Park in 1994 to plant this church, which is now known as Rocky Mountain Church.
At Rocky, I am responsible for giving direction in the creating, maintaining and
casting of our core ideology and making sure that all of our systems are aligned with
this core ideology. I am also responsible for weekend preaching and for giving
leadership and supervision to the staff. The favorite part of my job is studying
the Word and then the preaching of the Word. When I'm not working, I like to do
anything that gives me time with my bride - riding our Gold Wing provides such
an opportunity!
MARK
ROSKAM, ASSOCIATE PASTOR
I came to Estes Park
through the business world, as I managed the Holiday Inn & Estes Park Conference
Center for ten years. After the death of my wife Audrey in 1995, God made
it clear that it was time to "major" on the majors (things of life), and to minor
on the minors (things of life). We were afforded the opportunity to bring
our gifts and talents to Rocky, a place of grace and truth. As the Teaching
Pastor, I enjoy the opportunities that I have to preach, teach, lead and mentor.
My other ministry responsibilities include leading a variety of ministry teams at
Rocky and facilitating teams towards greater effectiveness in reaching people.
I counsel in a variety of sensitive sections of people's lives. My favorite
part of my job is working with people. I enjoy doing anything outdoors.
CHRIS
MOODY, WORSHIP ARTS PASTOR
As the Worship Arts
Pastor, I am responsible for all worship services and special events. I
also oversee outreach, and the missions team. In addition, I am responsible
for all the media, web, multimedia and technical aspects of the church's functions,
including the computer systems and their network. I came to Estes from Florida
in 1980, because of a friend who was actually born in Estes. Then my wife,
Kathy, and I were one of the initial families that helped plant the church and get
it started. Now I get to lead the people of Rocky in worship each weekend
and work with amazing musicians, which is by far the most amazing part of what I
get to do. But when I'm not at work, I like hanging out with my best friend
and beautiful wife, Kathy, and taking vacations near water with my kids.
SCOTT
MILLER, YOUTH PASTOR
I work
with the middle school and senior high youth at Rocky, and I love spending time
with teens and seeing them fall in love with Jesus. We’re in Estes because
the hills are alive.... so I am here.... I love the mountains so does my family.
And I believe God allowed us the opportunity to find an amazing fit at Rocky closer
to our Colorado roots. When I’m not with my Rocky kids, I like to spend time
with my wife and kids – watching my son play hockey, watching my girls swim......
and just watching my wife.
