Rocky Mountain Church | Marriage Mentoring

At Rocky, we believe that marriages are well worth the strong initial investment of premarital counseling, so we have designed the following path for couples deciding to marry here:

  • All couples are asked to participate in our premarital counseling program, regardless of their current living arrangements or past marital status.

 

  • Weddings at Rocky may be conducted in our Worship Center, at our outdoor wedding area or in God's great outdoors, yet we still ask that all couples engage with our premarital program. 

 

  • This program blends great relationship counseling with the excellence of the Prepare / Enrich program (Life innovations), with the Family History Analysis (H.Norman Wright) and other current premarital resources (Les & Leslie Parrott).

 

  • Both the marrying pastor and an assigned mentor couple will share the involvement with the soon-to-be married couple, offering them comprehensive input into their relationship.

 

  • The mentor couple will spend time both before and after the wedding day, to provide continuity for the couple throughout the early months of marriage. We strongly encourage the new couple to commit to joining a Home Church soon after their wedding.

 

  • On occasion, people are interested in Renewal of Vows ceremonies, which are planned for by directly contacting the officiating pastor.

 

  • Sometimes, people rent the facilities at Rocky, while asking their own pastor from outside of Rocky to officiate their wedding at our facility. In that case, we still require premarital counseling with that outside source, and also ask for permission to have professional conversations about the progress of that counseling. The Rocky pastor must formally approve of the premarital counseling plan both ahead of time and at the completion of the counseling. Only then, can the wedding be performed at Rocky by outside officients.
